Colonnade Reistna

The Reistna Colonnade on Homole Hill near Valtice was built by Prince Jan Josef I of Lichtenstein in memory of his deceased brothers Philip and Alois I and his late father Franz Josef I. It is built in the form of a Greek triumphal arch and has a viewing platform on it's roof.

From the rooftop lookout, on a clear day you can see Mikulov with it's castle and Saint Hill (Svatý Kopeček), the largest Moravian pond Nesyt, the Pálava Hills with the silhouette of the ruins of Děvičky Castle and the highest peak Děvín, the Minaret in the castle park in Lednice, the Small Carpathians in Slovakia and also the ruins of Falkenstein Castle in Austria.

The operation of the Reistna Colonnade has been run by the CHÂTEAU VALTICE winery for several years. You can taste a selection of wines or buy a whole bottle.

After all, fine wine is the perfect companion to the beautiful view of the sunny vineyards and the Pálava hills that the scenic Reistna Colonnade offers.
