Traminer from CHÂTEAU VALTICE has won in Berlin!

Berliner Wine Trophy

Red Traminer 0,75 grape selection 2022 Premium Collection from CHÂTEAU VALTICE was evaluated at the prestigious international wine competition Berliner Wine Trophy as the absolute best wine from the Czech Republic.

It was the only wine from the Czech Republic to win the Grand Gold Medal out of a total of 117 wines from the Czech Republic.

The grapes from which this beautiful wine was made come from the vineyards of the famous village of Bavory under the Pálavské vrchy, from the vineyard called Anenský vrch.

"This is our premium Red Traminer, which will surprise you with it's delicate scent of roses, flowers and exotic spices and, thanks to it's ageing in a wooden barrel, also with the aroma of vanilla and wood. The taste is very pleasant, harmonious, with a long aftertaste", comments the winning wine Mgr. David Št'astný, Director of CHÂTEAU VALTICE.

This is a wine in the 'dry' category with a fine residual sugar content of 7.9 g/l and a medium acidity of 7.7 g/l.

The overall character of the wine is underlined by the high sugar-free extract of 24.7 g/l.

Red Traminer is one of the many very successful varieties of the CHÂTEAU VALTICE winery and is currently represented in our range of goods in seven different varieties.

Interesting is also a rare variety called Yellow Traminer, which the winery is producing for 10 years already.

The Berliner Wine Trophy is the world's largest wine competition under the auspices of the O.I.V. (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), which was awarded back in 2004 and also under the auspices of the International Union of Oenologists.

The wines are judged by a panel of experts from all over the world.

More than 14 000 wines take part in the competition each year.
